Merry Christmas

Wow! Can you believe we're approaching 2024? This year has just blown by!

We are hoping, whether you celebrate Christmas or not,

that you get to have some down time and reflect on all of your blessings!

I know we will.

The last few years, to say the least, have been life changing for many. This year, in ​particular, we have a lot to be thankful for. We welcomed our 11th grandbaby! We have ​wonderful families that we serve daily, and we truly feel blessed with the new friendships.

We became a Title 5 program bringing more quality and needed services to our community. ​We Rise and Shine celebrated 5 years serving our community with quality childcare (33 years ​total). Part of our five-year plan that flew by in the blink of an eye! LOL

Life doesn't really slow-down and give any of us a chance to catch up, but onward we go ​hoping to make today better than yesterday while looking forward to the blessings of ​tomorrow!

As we continue to improve our services and offer a ​quality program to families with infants I am please to ​annouce that Miss Jenny will be our Curriculum ​planner/coordinator.

We are honored that she has agreed to this new ​responsibility and I am certain the babies will enjoy ​learning from these new activities.

Congrtulations to Miss Amanda on her promotion to ​Director Assistant!

Amanda has worked tirelessly, working full-time and ​completing her bachelor's degree and we couldn't be ​prouder!

Amanda will begin her training as Director Assistant right ​away, while maintaining 'teacher' duties at the center.

In April her job description will transition to Early ​Intervention & Child Development Specialist. As if we

haven't expanded enough already, Amanda will head up all of our DRDPs, ASQ, QRIS and ​CLASS program evaluations and children's developmental assessments.

We are extremely thrilled that she has agreed to continue on with Rise and Shine after ​graduation.

We have so much to be thankful for. Truly, words cannot express our gratitude.

A quick highlight:

1. January - Miss Amy started at our Humboldt Street center! YAY!! Almost one-year and we are so ​proud of her contribution to our growing agency.
   
2. February - We became a Title 5 program, which has the strictest guidelines and protocols. This is ​a 24-month process. We've made it to month 8! Woowho!!!
   
3. March - was a busy month - we began offering families low to no cost childcare payment ​asistance and began the application process to provide the Food Program (CACFP)
   
4. March - Cary was recognized a state (CA) Director Mentor
   
5. March - Miss Amanda started at our Humboldt Street center! Another round of applause!
   
6. April - Josiah became a certified First/Aid & CPR instructor! We can now offer these services to ​our community.
   
7. April - We hired our HR coordinator, Lorielle! What a life-saver she has been!
   
8. May - We implemented Hubbe! This is no small feat and we have so much more to learn. We've ​only skimmed the surface. So much more to learn.
   
9. June - We received funds for Montgomery Village's garden project and got started right away.
   
10. June - Miss Elda became another indespensable member of our team at Montgomery Village ​center.
    
11. July - Montgomery Village landscape was completed (minus the garden project).
    
12. August - Josiah became a certified Active Shooter instructor! More services to offer our ​community!
    
13. August - We implemented our 1/2 day Mondays back into our schedule for families.
    
14. August - We instituted our team bonding/building/training days on Monday afternoons.
    
15. August - Miss Jenny (MV) and Miss Meg (H) joined our team! This is getting so exciting! YAY!!
    
16. September - We began as an observation center at Humboldt!
    
17. October - We started our garden project at Montgomery Village
    
18. October - We implemented our Parent Engagement and Community Exchange project ​(P.E.A.C.E.).
    
19. October - Miss Rachel went from being a volunteer to being employeed! Thanks to SRJC utilizing ​our Humboldt Street center as one of their observation centers we gained a wonderful ​employee!
    
20. November - We were nominated as a Champion for Children in the category Inspired Start 0-5 ​Early Care and Education.
    

If the above list doesn't prove bushowy we've been.........then I don't know what does! And the year ​isn't even over yet!
